ABOUT THE TEACHER

Listen to Parents talk about the Childbloom Guitar Program:

”The one thing I’ve told …several friends…just how amazed they’ll be at how much they learn so quick and that the kids love it just as much as we love.”

”What attracted me to the Program was that it said it catered directly to children.”
”The group lesson and the idea that the parent is the…. guide…dynamite!”
”What we liked instantly was when she came home that first night she could play something.”

””..He can grow up with this program. I like the idea to think that when he’s getting into adolesence this is something positive that he will have.”

”Your kids drag out the guitar when grandparents come over…they’re really proud of that you know… ”

”The fact that they could play a song so quickly.. ”

Ron Casey

I have been teaching guitar classes in the Portland area for almost 20 years.  I have taught students of all ages, but since 2007 my focus has been teaching children through the Childbloom Guitar Program.

My background and education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance from Warner Pacific College.  I have studied guitar with some of Portland’s best teachers, and have performed locally in addition to regularly participating in worship services at Central Bible Church in NE Portland.

RON’S TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

”Music serves many purposes for people, whether as an artistic expression,  a social meeting place, or merely a fun past time meant to relax and enjoy.  It is my responsibility to provide the skills and encouragement for the students to achieve their  goals, whatever they might be.  I strive to find the balance between serious study, and a relaxed atmosphere where we don’t lose perspective on the enjoyment of learning to play music.”
